Free Tool Friday: Pin it to win it!

Pinterest is a great tool for sharing your organization’s story. Today’s tool lets you pin so much more!

Have you become a Pinterest addict? If you’re using this hot social network to share your nonprofit’s story then you’re going to love today’s Free Tool Friday pick.

Tool: Pinstamatic

About: Let’s face it, not everything we want to share on Pinterest has a fancy image to pin to our boards. Things like workshop dates, many blog posts or even a song you love might not have a great image associated with it. Enter Pinstamatic which creates pin-worthy content out of all these things, and more. Grab a quote from a blog post, pop it in Pinstamatic and presto! It’s ready to pin and looks good too. You can create images for pinning from websites, maps, Spotify and even a sticky note. We couldn’t get the Twitter function to work though. Bug?

Overall this is a great tool and has helped us think of new ways to use Mixtape Communications’ Pinterest boards.

Get it: Go to Pinstamatic and start playing away. They’re working on their site design so if that link is funky try out their old version at Pinstamatic.com.

We used Pinstamatic to make this quote image from one of our blog posts. Quick & easy and it looks cool too.

About Free Tool Friday

Do you like free tools that help you be more effective at your job? Well apparently you aren’t alone.  When we blogged on our 19 favorite free tools for non profits it became one of our most popular posts. We’re keeping it going with Free Tool Friday!  Every Friday we’ll post a new tool that we think will help you communicate better and help your nonprofit’s mission.

Some fine print:
Neither Mixtape Communications  or Zan McColloch-Lussier  get a kick back or any financial benefit from this service or tool. We feel like it is a good resource for non profits but we didn’t create it. So please check it out and make sure it is right for your organization. If we recommend a tool or resource on Free Tool Friday and you discover that it is crap, not actually free, or something is funky about it, please let us know.
