The easiest way to blog

Are you thinking about starting a blog at your non profit but aren’t quite ready to commit to it yet? Does the idea of creating all that content just make you want to run and scream? Then check out Tumblr, which bills itself (accurately) as the easiest way to blog.

Tumblr is like a hybrid, somewhere between a full blog & Twitter (or Flickr if you have a really visual organization). Think of it as a low impact and easy way to start blogging, find your voice and your audience all with a low time commitment. It’s also a really great medium for visually compelling content, so it’s a perfect fit for arts and nature organizations. One of the coolest things about Tumblr is how you can easily add just a photo or quote or picture without writing a full post.

Don’t worry if you haven’t heard of Tumblr before, until recently it was a little unknown gem. All that is about to change, with Lady Gaga joining Tumblr and the company announcing that it has surpassed WordPress with 20 million blogs.

Think you might want your own Tumblr? Here are some resources to get you started:

And while you’re at it, come on over to Mixtape’s Tumblr. We’ve got lots of content here that we don’t post on the blog or on Twitter.
